About Suzuki Classical Cello, Guitar, and Violin

Suzuki Education, also known as the “Mother Tongue Approach,” is a teaching philosophy based on Dr. Shin’ichi Suzuki’s observation that all children speak their own language with ease and proficiency at a very young age. Instructors utilizing the Suzuki method believe that ‘musical ability’ is not an inborn talent, but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue.” (Dr. Shin’ichi Suzuki)

Suzuki Group Class reinforces concepts presented in lessons, provide opportunities for peer-learning, introduce children to performance situations, and motivate a student’s desire to practice.  Group classes are organized within private teacher's studios at the Extension Division.  Registration for group classes will be offered as they are formed by the instructor.
